Scottish Premiership champs Celtic are keen on landing Franco Di Santo from German Bundesliga side Schalke. He is their shock January transfer target despite the price tag such interest would come with.
With the money, the La Liga side earned from the deal, Barcelona have had to pay hugely to get his replacement when they met with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool for Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho. If Celtic want to tow that path and sell their highly sought after star in Moussa Dembele, they would pay hugely in getting Franco Di Santo. Well except they sign the play first before selling off their prized possession.
Crystal Palace, Everton, Brighton and Hove Albion and several other clubs are keen on luring Dembele to the Premier League. The player is valued at over £20 million. If the biggest export in the history of the club were to leave, be sure that other clubs that Celtic would deal with would want a share of the money. Schalke will likely asks Brendan Rodgers to pay more, say over £6 million, for Di Santo despite his less than stellar record. Celtic should buy him first before selling off their star man.
