Injuries have affected Daniel Sturridge way back when the English forward was a player of Manchester City at the age of 18 and it still continues to upset the amount of matches that Sturridge is able to play in a single season.
Sturridge in this season has made 12 appearances and he will not be able to perform in anymore games of the current campaign due to the hip surgery that the 25 year old player sustained.
The Liverpool player flew to the United States as he was placed under the knife and underwent his hip surgery and Brendan Rodgers as well as the rest of his teammates of Liverpool are hoping to see Sturridge back in action in the next season and hopefully avoid sustaining any further injuries of this type.
Sturridge spent time with the medical staff of Liverpool as the medical team advised him to take the operation as his condition was more serious than it was originally believed.
Brendan Rodgers has indicated on a few occasions that he does not want to depend on a forward who is as susceptible to injuries as Daniel Sturridge is and a new attacker is expected to be signed during the summer transfer window.
The manager of Liverpool is still willing to keep hold of Sturridge and not sell him but the coach hailing from Northern Ireland wants to have other options opened just in case another injury hits Sturridge or another player in the team.
The last Premier League match that Daniel Sturridge played for Liverpool in this season was against Arsenal on April 4 as he entered the pitch at the 46th minute but even though he only played for the 2nd half of the match, his injury curse continued as he tore his hip muscle and surgery was required to solve this issue.
